'Undeclared' Star Hopes for Sophomore Year While the last episode of "Undeclared" airs Tuesday, March 12, with no sign of FOX picking up the freshman series for an additional season, the show's actor and writer Seth Rogen remains hopeful.
"My gut says that it's not gone," he tells the Indianapolis Star. "The scripts we had written that we didn't shoot were in my opinion the funniest ones." "If they give us a chance, it could be great."
FOX cut back its order of the college comedy from 22 to 17 episodes, partly due to its lackluster ratings. The show averages about 7.5 million viewers per episode. While the numbers aren't that bad for the network overall -- "Grounded for Life," which was renewed, pulls 7.7 million viewers a week -- they are poor compared to those of its lead-in, "That '70's Show's" 9.7 million total viewers.
"It just seems like anything different is hard to make people watch. And at this point, anything good is different," says Rogen. Taking the place of "Undeclared," FOX will premiere the new comedy "Andy Richter Controls the Universe" as of March 19. With the fate of "Undeclared" uncertain, Rogen is currently keeping himself busy by trying to get a deal for a film script he wrote called "Super Bad." "Undeclared" airs Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. Related Shows
